The Legacy NOW Initiative

Accion Presbiteriana , Inc. is a coalition of churches and fellowships that seek to provide leadership and empowerment opportunities. For the past thirty four years we have been developing this ministry for and with over 34,000 children, youth, young adults and adults throughout the tri-state area. During uncertain times, this retreat has been a consistent and formidable ministry in service to Christ and the Church. Many participants have returned with a renewed outlook on life that has served as a conduit to a variety service within and without the church. During these uncertain economic conditions many of our families are unable to have their children participate in worthwhile ministries such as the Annual Youth Retreat.

The Legacy of this retreat has been its proven history where many youth return to their home churches and have served as Sunday School teachers, elders, deacons, youth counselors, Ministers of the Word and
Sacraments, social service providers, and many other vocational forms of service to God, Church and community. In the midst of changing paradigm shifts experienced by our congregations, the Annual Youth Retreat has persevered in consistently providing a comprehensive program with dedicated volunteers who have sacrificed vacation time from work to provide a worthy service.

We believe that our children and youth are the CHURCH of the NOW! Our legacy is to continue providing this quality service to our congregations who are composed of families that seek to partner with the Church in the formation of their children and youth. The Legacy NOW Initiative has the purpose of raising funds for camper and staff scholarships, orientation materials, curriculum development and youth worker training.
Legacy: "something transmitted by or received from an ancestor or predecessor or from the past." This ministry had been entrusted to us by a great cloud of witnesses that have graced the hallowed grounds of the
Presbyterian Center in Holmes, NY. We wish to move forward in the midst of the current economic difficulties confronted by families we are serving. Please consider making a financial contribution toward this ministry through a camper scholarship, staff financial award, program development or leadership.

Camper Scholarships:
Full at $185.00 or Partial at $92.50
Staff Financial Awards:
Full at $100.00 or Partial at $50.00
Day Care Scholarships:
Full at $75.00 or Partial at $37.50
Curriculum & Materials:
Anywhere from $25.00 - $75.00
Arts & Crafts Materials:
Anywhere from $25.00 - $75.00
Food Items as we provide three healthy
meals during the seven day period:
Anywhere from $50.00 - $100.00
